Otocinclus Catfish, commonly known as “Otos,” are among the best and safest algae-eating fish available for planted aquariums. These small, peaceful suckermouth catfish are famous for their ability to clean algae from glass, plant leaves, and hardscape without causing any damage to delicate aquatic plants.
Otocinclus are social fish and should always be kept in groups of 6 or more for best health and natural behavior. They are very active during the day, constantly grazing and moving around the tank. Although they are small (usually 3–5cm), they play a very important role in maintaining the balance and cleanliness of the aquarium ecosystem.
